Al-Hujurat (Arabic: الحُجُرات, al-ḥujurāt meaning: The Chambers) is the 49th section (surah) of the Quran with 18 refrains (āyāt). The section contains decorum and standards to be seen in the Muslim people group, including the legitimate direct towards the Islamic prophet, Muhammad, an order against following up on news without confirmation, a call for harmony and compromise, as well as directives against criticism, doubt, and slandering. The section likewise proclaims a general fraternity among Muslims. The thirteenth stanza, one of the most popular in the Quran, is perceived by Muslim researchers to lay out equity with respect to race and beginning; no one but God can decide one's honorability in view of his devotion.
