At-Tawbah (Arabic: ٱلتوبة, at-Tawbah; meaning: The Apology), otherwise called Bara'at (Arabic: براءة, Barāʾah; meaning: Disavowal), is the 10th section (sūrah) of the Quran. It contains 129 stanzas (āyāt) and is one of the last Medinan surahs.

This Surah is known by two names - At-Taubah and Al-Bara'at. It is called At-Taubah considering the way that it explains taubah (compensation) and illuminates about the circumstances regarding its acceptance.(vv. 102. 118). The second name Bara'at (Delivery) is taken from the initial expression of the Surah.
