Al-Isrāʾ (Arabic: الإسراء; meaning: The Night Excursion), otherwise called Banī Isrāʾīl (Arabic: بني إسرائيل; meaning: The Offspring of Israel) is the seventeenth section (sūrah) of the Quran, with 111 stanzas (āyāt). The word Isra' alludes to the "night venture" of the prophet Muhammad. This sura is important for a series al-Musabbihat surahs on the grounds that it starts with the glorification of God.
